"Children of Change" reaches Canada

When travelling through Europe in 2000, my first big foray into the unknown, undreamed of excitement of travel, I was on a Trafalgar Tour with among others, two Canadian ladies who live near Niagara Falls. They shared my sense of humour and called things as they were. We got along famously. I started chatting with them while sitting on the steps of St Marks Square in Venice. It was far too expensive to sit inside any eatery, so we sat amongst the pigeons.

Jean and Lorraine have remained friends through the ensuing twenty-one years, mainly through calls and cards at Christmas time. However, I did meet up with them again in 2006 when I spent several months in Canada and the States. We had many laughs over lunch and reminisced about our trip.

When they discovered that I had published my memoir, they each asked for a copy. I was quite interested in their feedback as they have never been to Australia and had no knowledge of my background at all. Here is Lorraine's verdict.

Dear Carole

I have just finished reading your marvellous book. Thank you so much for inviting me to share it. I have been to and enjoyed many of the places you wrote about and your vivid descriptions and experiences brought them all back to me. You are a terrific writer and communicator.

Thanks again for your memoir. I'll treasure it.

Stay well! Lorraine

With every positive, humbling and productive comment, I get a little closer to commencing my second book. Thank you all for your incredible support.
